Diwali, one of the biggest festivals for Hindus is celebrated with lots of enthusiasm, happiness, food and the practice of mendhi, which is the application of henna as a temporary form of skin decoration. The celebration lasts for five continuous days, with the third day being celebrated as the main Diwali or as the "Festival of Lights". This year more than 150 NYMC students, faculty and friends participated in the festivities which took place on Friday, October 24, 2008.
