The Center for Disaster Medicine conducts interdisciplinary research, training, technical assistance and educational activities related to emergency preparedness. It was established to improve emergency preparedness for disasters, terrorism and public health emergencies locally, nationally and internationally by serving as a specialized academic and scholastic resource for preparedness involving children and other vulnerable populations.
