Event Parking Instructions
The guest parking arrangements for the 2014 White Coat Ceremony to be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, are as follows.
Guests can park in one of three lots on campus. The first lot is located at 7 Dana Road between Route 9A and Hammond House Road - the Clinical Skills and Disaster Medicine Training Center. Shuttle buses will transport guests to and from this parking lot. The buses will drop off and pick up the guests in the circle in front of the Sunshine Cottage Administration Building which is just a short walk to and from the tent and the Medical Education Center (MEC) where the morning program and afternoon ceremony will take place. The second lot is the gravel section of the gated housing parking lot # 2 across from the Alumni House on Sunshine Cottage Road. The third lot is the grassy area next to housing parking lot #2 also across and just down from the Alumni House. Guests using either of these two lots can walk across the street to the tent and the Medical Education Center. A security officer will be posted at the entrance to all of the lots and directional signage will be posted on Campus. If one lot fills up security staff will direct guests to the other lot/s. For the purpose of a GPS address, guests should use 40 Sunshine Cottage Road, Valhalla NY. Directions to the College are available on the NYMC website.
In the unlikely event that all three lots fill up, guests will be directed to additional parking areas on campus. Security officers will be posted as needed to direct guests. The buses will drop off and pick up the guests in the circle in front of the Sunshine Cottage Administration Building just a short walk to and from the tent where the events take place.
There will be several spaces reserved in the MEC roadway for guests with disabilities who would have difficulty walking from a lot or riding on the bus. An officer will be posted at roadway entrance.
