During her 20-year career as a physical therapist for people with serious neurological, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary challenges, Janet Herbold, M.P.H. ’09, guided her patients in achieving goals that changed their lives. Now a senior administrator at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, N.Y., she uses research and policy to change lives on a much broader scale. New York Medical College’s M.P.H. program in health policy and management attracted her because of its active faculty and its emphasis on applying the latest knowledge to projects out in the “real world,” not just in the classroom.
