Medal of Honor
For more than half a century, the Alumni Association has recognized the singular achievements of its most distinguished alumni through its Medal of Honor. The medal-a three-inch, solid bronze die-struck medallion with a caduceus-is the highest recognition awarded by the Association. Those chosen for the award are highly regarded by their alumni peers and serve as a special inspiration to new School of Medicine graduates who attend the annual Alumni Banquet, where the award is presented.
Nominations for the Medal of Honor are welcome. Candidates must be graduates of the School of Medicine of New York Medical College, have made significant contributions to the field of medicine and be recognized for their academic achievements. The Board of Governors makes the final selection from among each year's nominated candidates.
To nominate an alumnus or alumna for the award, email the Office of Alumni Relations or call (914) 594-4556 by October 1st. Nominations received after October 1st will be considered for the following year.
