Nader G. Abraham, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmacology was awarded the 2006 Dean’s Research Award on January 24, 2007 in a ceremony held in the Nevins Auditorium of the Medical Education Center.

Dr. Abraham has made significant contributions to the definition of the molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology and pharmacology of heme oxygenases. Dr. Abraham delivered a lecture entitled: "30 Years of Heme Oxygenase: From a Molecular Wrecking Ball to a Compelling Guard in Inflammation and Diabetes." An honorarium and plaque were presented to Dr. Abraham at the conclusion of his lecture. A reception held in his honor followed the lecture.
