| The figures demonstrate the
technologies employed to measure and record beat-to-beat
continuous blood pressure, heart rate, arterial waveform,
electrocardiogram and respirations. Data converge on our
computer system (right upper panel) through the DATAQ analog to digital
conversion system (left upper panel) from which they are
multiplexed through a high speed PC - permanent records
are kept on CDROM. Finger plethysmography (Finometer, finapres) is shown in
middle panels calibrated against a standard Dinamapp oscillometry
BP system. The Right lower panel shows a Respitrace transducer used to
measure normallized thoracic chest excursions. Unfortunately the
velcro has separated. |
