The mission of the Bioethics Institute of New York Medical College is to promote the care of patients as whole persons through the research and teaching of bioethics. As a medical school in the Roman Catholic tradition, New York Medical College is committed to promoting the principles of respect for persons and the dignity of human life. These commitments require serious study of the moral issues that face health care practitioners and patients.
The Bioethics Institute is closely associated with The John J. Conley Department of Ethics at St. Vincent’s Manhattan located in Greenwich Village. The Conley Center for Ethics is the home of the Bioethics Research Collection, which consists of over 1000 books on medical ethics, philosophy, philosophy of medicine, and spirituality. |
