Android Setup

Learn about the new Android OS, Kit Kat here.
Note, your screens may differ, but the steps are similar.
The steps below are for an Exchange setup. For imap and pop information click here.

Begin by tapping the launcher icon, then selecting the Email app.

Now fill out your college email address and password and tap next

Read on to setup your email account as an Exchange account. Select Exchange to continue and wait for the account information to be retrieved. Click here for imap and pop information.

Fill in the server settings as shown below and tap Next to continue.

As the server settings are verified; you will be asked to allow some of the security settings of the phone to be managed by the Exchange server. This is done so that in the event that your phone is lost or stolen, the phone can be remotely wiped clean. You need to allow for this; otherwise, select Cancel and follow one of our other tutorials to get mail on your Android smartphone.

You're almost done! Review how often you want the phone to check for new messages, how much to synchronize with the Exchange server, etc. When you're ready, tap Next. Lastly, give your account a name and tap Done.

Before you can receive emails, you'll need to activate "device Administrator" which relates to what we mentioned earlier; allowing the server to wipe the phone clean in case it is ever lost or stolen to prevent college information from being compromised. Choose Activate to complete this setup, or select Cancel and follow one of our other tutorials to get mail on your Android smartphone.
