Telephone
NYMC is pleased to provide cost-free telephone service to all students maintaining residency within the residence halls and designated modular units. In order for students to make calls off-campus, students must set up an account with Paetec by calling x2000 from an on-campus phone. The living area is equipped with one active voice line jack that is shared by all roommates, with each room receiving their own phone number.
This webpage is intended to provide information concerning the services offered. If after reading this document you still have questions or need further information, please contact David Buler at 914-594-3993.
The Campus owns the phone lines in the residence halls and in designated modular units. We have our own local and long distance provider; you may not request your own long distance provider.

Regarding dormitory phone extensions:
To ensure student confidentiality, NYMC employees do not give out student phone numbers. Please provide your phone number to the callers of your choice. If you have not received your residence hall phone number via e-mail, you may obtain it by visiting the Help Desk with a picture ID.

Phone Directory for On-Campus Departments:
A directory of NYMC department extensions can be obtained by clicking here, this telephone directory will work in the NYMC campus only. Please do not call the switchboard operator for on-campus extensions or for an outside line. The operator is unable to provide these requests.
Audio Conferencing
Audio conferencing services are provided to the NYMC community in three ways:
- Three-way calling
Three-way calling allows a user to communicate with two other parties. College phones are capable of three way calling without the use of any special services. Instructions can be found here.
- MeetingPlace
For audio conferences that include 4 to 46 callers, users can use the MeetingPlace system. One benefit of the system is that the contact number is a college extension, so users here at the college do not incur any per minute charges when calling into the system.
These conferences must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance to reserve the necessary resources and allow enough time to distribute call-in instructions. To schedule a MeetingPlace meeting, contact David Buler at 914-594-3993 or david_buler@nymc.edu. You will need to provide the following information:
- Name of the meeting organizer
- Contact phone number for the meeting organizer
- Date and time of the conference
- Length of the meeting
- Number of callers (include all callers, including the organizer).
Once the conference has been scheduled, you will receive call-in instructions via email.
- FreeConferenceCall.com
An alternative to the MeetingPlace system is FreeConferenceCall.com. The system allows up to 96 callers. One major difference between FreeConferenceCall.com and MeetingPlace is the access number. Callers using the FreeConferenceCall.com system must dial a long distance phone number to access the system.
To schedule a conference, contact Cathy Jankus at 914-594-3723 or cathy_jankus@nymc.edu or David Buler at 914-594-3993 or david_buler@nymc.edu at least 24 hours before the conference will begin. Include the same information as required for a Meeting Place conference listed above.
Once the conference has been scheduled, you will receive call-in instructions via email.
The College's sole responsibility to these living areas is to provide one working jack per student.
