MEDICAL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES NEW CHAIRMEN
VALHALLA, N.Y., April 5, 2004 – New York Medical College has named new chairmen to head two departments.
David E. Asprinio, M.D., has been appointed chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, after serving as acting chair since 2001. A diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is also director of the orthopaedic service at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) and program director of the College residency program there. He has been a member of the faculty since 1995.
Gregory Almond, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., has been appointed chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine where he has served as acting chairman since 1997. A fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, he joined the faculty in 1989. Dr. Almond is chief of service of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City, a position he has held since 1990.
