MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSTS RACE TO SUPPORT ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES
Valhalla, N.Y., October 11, 2004 - On Sunday, October 24th, New York Medical College will hold its sixth annual Race for Rehab, a 5K run/walk. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Achilles Track Club, a world-wide organization that encourages people with physical challenges to participate in running events, regardless of speed, level of ability or age.
Sponsored by New York Medical College's School of Public Health and other local organizations Race for Rehab's goal is to raise awareness and funds for abilities of physically challenged athletes, who lack the resources to participate in athletic events. Many disabled runners are registered to participate in the Race for Rehab.
The race begins at 10:00 a.m.
