Resources Equipment currently in use on the teaching campus includes 2 multidetecto (64 and 16) helical GE CT scanners, 1 helical Siemens CT scanner, Siemens Short Bore 1.5 Tesla Magnet, Siemens Open MRI System, Siemens 1.5 Tesla, a digital interventional radiology suite, digital mammography, four fluoroscopy rooms, four nuclear SPECT cameras and an emergency radiology suite and 2 state-of-the-art radiation therapy suites. A PET/CT suite is in place. A dedicated unit is expected in February 2007. Color duplex ultrasonography, obstetrical sonography, bone densitometry, and stereotactic/sonographic core biopsy and fine needle aspiration are routinely performed. The vascular and interventional radiology service performs approximately 2,000 arterial, venous, dialysis, biliary, renal, and drainage or biopsy procedures each year. A Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is used at Regional Radiology and is being installed at the main campus. The residents’ office contains an updated American College of Radiology Teaching File, ACR CD-ROM set and various DVD lecture series. The computer laboratory dedicated to resident education and research contains high-resolution PC workstations with CD-ROM educational disks and unlimited internet access for on-line teaching file and Medline search capability. The expansive library of current radiology journals and reference books is updated annually. All residents have access to the New York Medical College electronic library. Residents receive an annual book allowance of $400 to be used toward their own purchases.
