The SMH&WS will host a FREE, 8 week series of classes for students beginning January 8th - February 28th. All classes will be held in Mod 203. See schedule below. Participants are required to sign a waiver prior to participating in any class. Please contact Dr. Baird to sign up for classes at Reon_Baird@nymc.edu
Yoga:
January 8th - February 28th
Monday: 4-5pm (Mary)
Wednesday: 4-5pm (Rita)
Instructors:
Rita Trieger is the founder and editor-in-chief of Fit Yoga magazine (2003-2010), the author of Yoga Heals Your Back (Fairwinds, 2005), andĀ Tranquil Mind, a meditation and yoga CD. She incorporates a variety of traditions into her teaching style, including vigorous Vinyasa flow and healing/ restorative/therapeutic classes.
Mary Butler-Fink is registered yoga instructor. She has been teaching yoga for over 16 years. Her focus is on creating balance in life. She teaches both group and private classes and has worked with individuals of all levels in the practice to secure steadiness.
Pilates:

January 8th - February 28th
Tuesday: 4-5pm (Fern)
Thursday: 4-5pm (Fern)
Instructor:
Fern Stearney is a personal trainer, group fitness and pilates instructor. She specializes in providingĀ attention to improve form and understanding of exercise. Her class will focus on improving overall strength, posture, balance, flexibility and stability.
Meditation:

The first meditation workshop was held on December 10th, 2012. Stay tuned...more to come.
