The art and science of the protection of good health, the promotion of sound ecological thinking, the prevention of disease and injury through control of positive environmental factors, and the reduction of potential physical, biological, chemical, and radiological hazards. Environmental sanitation and engineering problems will be explored, including communicable and non-infectious diseases, water and wastewater treatment, solid waste, food protection, vector control and noise.
Lectures: 3 hrs/wk. Letter-graded.
