The logic of objective assessment, assurance of data validity, and interpretation of findings are major foci of this course. This course considers the physical principles and technologic approaches underlying objective acoustic and physiologic measurement of respiratory and vocal function. Students will gain an understanding of common measurement methods, and of the quantification of ventilatory and phonatory function in clinical settings. Laboratory exercises offer hands-on practice with equipment available in various clinical settings
Prerequisites: Articulatory and Acoustic Phonetics.
