As New York Medical College looks toward the future, our goals are to continue attracting the highest quality students, to intensify our research initiatives and to remain a vital public health resource for our community and the region by educating tomorrow's health sciences professionals. Your support will enable us to make these goals a reality. Following is a list of ways that you can designate your gift to New York Medical College.

Annual Fund

The annual fund provides critical resources to support the College's operations, including enhancing new programs and facilities essential to learning, investment in the school's research enterprise and much needed scholarship support for student recruitment. In sum, the annual fund ensures that we sustain all that we have accomplished.

Unrestricted

An unrestricted gift is a donation that provides New York Medical College with an important level of flexibility, allowing the College to determine how best to use the gift. These gifts are used to support and enhance our greatest priorities including student financial aid, research, library collections, facilities, and other vital areas of the university.

Scholarships and Loans

Gifts towards scholarships and loans enable today's students to pursue their chosen careers and become tomorrow's leaders in health care. Reducing the debt burden for our students enables them to focus their full attention to the rigorous studies they have embarked upon.

Research

New York Medical College continues to achieve groundbreaking advances in research and biotechnology endeavors in areas such as cardiovascular research, kidney disease, cancer, infectious disease and neurological disorders, to name a few.

Academic Activities of Departments

The research and education activities of our clinical and basic sciences departments and our public health disciplines are core to the mission of the university.

Honor/Memorial Gifts

Gifts in honor or in memory of a loved one provide you with an opportunity to remember someone special while supporting New York Medical College. You are able to make gifts in honor of someone celebrating a special occasion such as a wedding, birthday or holiday. Memorial gifts can be a thoughtful way to express your sympathy for the loss of a friend or relative.

Major Gift and Naming Opportunities:

Discussions are welcome from donors interested in any of the following gift opportunities. Please contact Julie A. Kubaska, Vice President, Development and Alumni Relations, at (914) 594-4529 for more information.

Endowed Chairs and Professorships

In addition to conferring professional distinction, endowed chairs and professorships provide critical supplemental funds for an existing academic position, wherein the income from the endowment is used to contribute towards the salary of the holder, provide support for research assistants, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, clerical support, travel and equipment and can provide a source of matching funds for other income.

For a donor, endowing a chair or professorship demonstrates a sophisticated understanding and appreciation for the university's mission of excellence in education and research. Through such gifts, donors evidence their continuing commitment to the faculty member, the position and specialty. Moreover, benefactors partner with the university to advance the acquisition of knowledge and provide the impetus for unprecedented breakthroughs and discoveries. With pride and gratitude, the names of these generous donors (or their designees) are dedicated with the endowed chairs and remain in perpetuity to provide fitting recognition of their unique and outstanding philanthropy.

Endowed Faculty Scholars and Faculty Fellows

The endowment of a faculty fellow or faculty scholar enables the university to attract, retain, and honor preeminent academics and researchers whose scholarly accomplishments enrich the university's teaching and research activities. Such prestigious appointments also serve as inspiration for both students and colleagues. Additionally, endowed faculty fellows and scholars strengthen the academic mission of the university by providing permanent support for an established field of study or specialty, or by providing the focal point for a new area of inquiry.

Endowed Scholarships

New York Medical College recognizes the crucial need to improve its student scholarship and financial aid resources. The university's ability to matriculate and retain a highly gifted student body is, and always will be, essential to the institution's growth and reputation for continued academic excellence. Indeed, the availability of scholarship funds is a vital underpinning to sustain the university's role as a leader in health sciences education. Endowing a scholarship makes it possible for a donor to create an ongoing scholarship support base.

Other Opportunities

Gift opportunities of varying levels exist to name a wide host of rooms, laboratories, classrooms, auditoria, and more. Please contact Julie A. Kubaska, Vice President, Development and Alumni Relations, at (914) 594-4529 for more information.
