Mechanisms of apoptosis and development of methods to
study this process are the focus of researchers at BCRI. Some of the
methods originally developed by us (e.g. TUNEL methodology to label
DNA strand breaks (&ref.27,
&ref.39)
are now used worldwide.The photomicrographs shown on this page,
which illustrate apoptotic cells stained with different methods,
were published in our review papers on apoptosis, that now have over
1,100 citations in the literature (&ref.28&ref.104).
