Medical Ethics Syllabus

 

First Year Bioethics Course Description:

Today, more than ever in history, the health professions acknowledge that moral questions are an ingredient in professional health care practice. In order to address these questions effectively, and to assist their patients to do so as well, physicians require education in the bioethical aspects of their professional practice. The purpose of this course is to provide an introductory foundation to bioethics.

Second Year Bioethics Course Description:

The 2nd year bioethics course introduces students to the methods necessary for analyzing ethical issues in a clinical setting. Students are given the opportunity to apply these skills to specific cases drawn from epidemiology, pharmacology, and pathology. Classes will meet for once a month over a period of four months.
