Mr. Reilly is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Center for Disaster Medicine at the New York Medical College, School of Public Health. Additionally, he coordinates the research and educational programs for the Center, and provides expert content in the areas of counterterrorism, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) preparedness and response, and general disaster and emergency management. In addition to his work at NYMC, Mr. Reilly holds faculty appointments as an Adjunct Professor at the Metropolitan College of New York, School of Public Affairs & Administration, in the Department of Emergency and Disaster Management and as a Senior Lecturer for Northeastern University's Institute for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in Burlington, MA, where his specialty is the public safety and emergency medical response to disasters and terrorist incidents. Michael earned his MPH from the Yale University School of Medicine, where his concentration was environmental health science and risk assessment. Additionally, Michael earned his BS cum laude in Health Science, as well as an AS and certificate in Paramedic Technology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. In addition to over 9 years of experience in public safety and emergency management in a variety of capacities throughout the U.S., Mr. Reilly remains an active paramedic in the Metro New York City region and maintains numerous specialty and technical certifications and instructor credentials in the areas of: Emergency medical services, OSHA compliance and worker safety, environmental health, hazardous materials emergency response, emergency management, counterterrorism, and weapons of mass destruction preparedness and response. Michael is an active speaker throughout the United States and a member of several national committees on disaster and preparedness-related topics. Since before 9/11, he has trained hundreds of first responders and senior public safety and public health officials at the local, state, and federal levels in the areas of emergency and disaster preparedness and planning and the response to terrorist and WMD events.
