Robert W. Amler, M.D., Dean of the School of Public Health at New York Medical College has been appointed acting chair of the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine following the death of Dr. Joseph Cimino in July. Dr. Amler is an experienced health administrator, epidemiologist, pediatrician and 25-year veteran of the U.S. Public Health Service. A member of the American Medical Association and American Public Health Association, Dr. Amler is also a Professor of Pediatrics at NYMC. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine and American Academy of Pediatrics.
