Spine & Peripheral Nerve Services

The Department of Neurosurgery works independently and in conjunction with the Departments of Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Oncology, and Radiology in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of spinal disorders including, trauma, degenerative diseases, and neoplastic disease.

In the operating room, spinal instrumentation and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring are routinely used. Both minimally invasive spine surgery and major complex spine surgery are offered. Percutaneous procedures for the management of pain secondary to spinal disorders are available. An O-arm is available.

Kyphoplasty is used for vertebral compression fractures. Stereotactic spine radiosurgery is used for focal metastatic disease of the spine.
