Educational Program for Those Involved with Human Subjects Research.
New York Medical College's Committees for Protection of Human Subjects, commonly know as Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), are charged with protecting the rights and welfare of patients and volunteers participating in biomedical, behavioral and social sciences research. The College has two distinct IRB panels: General, Medical and Behavioral IRB and Oncology. The College's IRBs are the IRBs for New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center, Metropolitan Hospital Center, Terrence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center and the Westchester Institute for Human Development. The following are examples of the types of human subjects research that may require IRB approval:
Submissions are due two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
IRB approval must be renewed at least annually.
