Dear Prospective Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the New York Medical College Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery currently has 15 residents, and offers three 5-year training positions. The Residency Program is fully accredited by the residency review committee, and offers a well-rounded clinical and academic experience in each of the orthopaedic subspecialties.
The training program at New York Medical College is affiliated with hospitals in Manhattan, Stamford CT, and the Hudson River Valley. Residents in this program work with dedicated full-time faculty and voluntary faculty members. Residents benefit from rotations at Westchester Medical Center (a level one trauma center), Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital (a dedicated pediatric hospital on the main campus), Stamford Hospital (a level two community hospital), Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital (a busy joint arthroplasty center), and Mount Sinai Hospital (a tertiary care referral facility) located in New York City.
Along with the extensive clinical experience offered, residents have dedicated time to participate in research coordinated by a full time basic scientist with a Ph.D. in tissue engineering.
I invite you to look through our web site to learn more about the training program and I encourage you to ask questions and discuss the program with our current residents. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
