PGY-V $72,000 + $3,500 chief resident stipend



Four weeks of paid vacation are provided each year

Educational Stipend

Each resident is given a $1,500 course stipend in addition to departmentally sponsored conferences and courses. Each resident is given a $650 book stipend each year. The book stipend can be used for books or equipment.


Residents are sponsored to attend several educational courses during their residency. In addition, travel and lodging will be funded for any resident presenting a paper or poster (maximum one resident per meeting per presentation).


Each resident is given subscriptions to both the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Additionally, New York Medical College Library has an extensive online subscription to prudent orthopaedic journals. Affiliate services can provide copies of journals that are not provided through New York Medical College on request.

Professional Liability

During the time a resident is assigned to a service in any affiliated institution, he or she is covered by the institution's personal liability policy.


Meal vouchers are provided for residents while on call at Westchester Medical Center and Stamford Hospital.
