Welcome to the New York Medical College Department of Radiology at Westchester Medical Center! We would like to extend our warmest welcome. Please explore our website and learn about our program. Feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have.
Westchester Medical Center is truly a gem of residencies in the tristate area possessing the highest case-mix index in the United States. Our facility posesses 634 beds, including 143 ICU beds, a Level I Trauma Center, Transplant Center, Stroke Center and a Children’s Hospital. The Department of Radiology includes a group of 20 residents, 20 attendings, and 2 physicists who work together as a unit to manage the radiologic care of the large volume of patients in the Hudson Valley region.
Our radiology service is resident run allowing residents to have the first eyes on all of the unique cases. The strong support from faculty including Dr. Lefkovitz, the department chair, and the program directors, Dr. Gilet and Dr. LeCompte ensures a positive educational environment. The department provides residents access to all of the educational resources available including subscriptions to StatDX, E-Anatomy, question banks, as well as support to go to national conferences such as RSNA and AIRP.
What truly makes residency at Westchester Medical Center memorable is the strong comraderie among attendings, staff, and residents. The people you will meet and work with during residency will become friends and colleagues for life.
In our free time, the residents themselves take advantage of the proximity to New York City in addition to the high quality surrounding restaurants and outdoor activities that the Hudson Valley affords us. All in all, Westchester Medical Center is one of the best places to train in the country!
Please take your time to explore the website and feel free to contact us for any further questions! All the Best,
Jeffrey Gnerre, M.D.
