Eduardo Lopez, M.D., the Catherine and Vladislav P. Hinterbuchner Professor and Chair, joined the faculty of NYMC and NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan as chairman and chief of service of the Department Rehabilitation Medicine in 2012. Dr. Lopez received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School UCC School of Medicine, Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed his internship at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University, residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center and a fellowship in neurorehabilitation at the Medical College of Virginia. He entered the United States Army Military Corps and served as Captain, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1991. Prior to NYMC, Dr. Lopez served as medical director of the JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, New Jersey, and held a clinical faculty position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
