Facilities & Administrative Cost Proposal
The UBO oversees the preparation of and assists in the negotiation stage of the Facilities & Administrative Cost Proposal with hopes of securing the best rate possible for the College.
The Facilities and Administrative ( F & A) rate
The maximum rate of recovery of administrative costs for grants and other sponsored programs calculated based on actual costs incurred and approved by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). A proposal is submitted to the DHHS approximately every fours years for the purpose of establishing that overhead rate.
Based on the College’s last negotiations, New York Medical College was able to negotiate the following predetermined F & A rates:
- FY 2010: 59%
- FY 2011: 59%
- FY 2012: 61%
- FY 2013: 61%
New York Medical College will be required to submit its next proposal for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. This proposal which will be due at the end of this year will be used to establish organized research F & A rates for FY 2014 and beyond. (See PDF “F & A Cost Rates Letter”)
