Residency Dermatopathology The residents receive extensive training in dermatopathology. Formal biweekly didactic sessions given by staff dermatopathologists focus on recognizing histologic patterns of inflammatory skin disease and neoplasms with special emphasis on developing clinical differential diagnoses. An additional session is held once per month in order to integrate and review. Each week, the dermatopathologist reads the biopsy specimens collected from the dermatology clinic with the residents. During this session, the clinical presentation of the patient is correlated with the histopathology of the biopsy specimen, allowing strong clinicopathologic correlation to be established.
