The Medicine Clerkship comprises 12 weeks of intensive teaching, instruction and hands-on patient care for third-year medical students, providing them with a firm knowledge base in general Internal Medicine and its related specialties. Geriatrics and Outpatient Care are incorporated into the rotation.
In addition to Westchester Medical Center, six other teaching sites are utilized:
- Metropolitan Hospital Center
- Montefiore North Hospital
- Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital
- Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital
- Lenox Hill Hospital
- St. Joseph’s Hospital (Paterson, NJ)
Director of the Medicine Clerkship is Gary Stallings, M.D., who is Senior Associate Program Director, WMC Internal Medicine Residency. Dr. Stallings is an assistant professor of medicine at New York Medical College.
