The Department of Medicine has the largest teaching responsibility in the medical school. Joyce Eshet has served as the Medical Student Program Coordinator for the Department since 1994. Among her many responsibilities, she organizes the combined 3rd Year Medicine and Geriatrics Clerkship for 190 students each year, as well as the 4th Year Medicine Subinternship.

Joyce holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College where she studied foreign languages. She spent some time in Mexico studying at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City. She enjoys travel and lived for several years on a kibbutz in Israel where she studied Hebrew and taught English.
