The New York Medical College Residency Program maintains a curriculum for teaching residents the basics of orthopaedics in all of the subspecialty areas. The content is directed by the residency Program Director and the chief resident of each service. The program holds four hours of weekly didactic on Monday in addition to daily lectures from 7:30 to 8:00 am. These times are considered “protected time”. Attending physicians are often involved in presenting and moderating these lectures providing additional educational value.
