Program Director's Corner
Susan Rachlin, M.D.Program Director-Radiology Residency Associate Professor Director of Medical Student Education Why should you consider being a resident at Westchester Medical Center? I think there are a multitude of great reasons. First, we are a Level I Trauma Center with more Pathology than you could ever hope for in four years. You will be amazed at what you will see and learn during your training at Westchester Medical Center. Second, the resident and faculty complement is not too big, not too small, but just right to allow for a wonderful, congenial work atmosphere. You will not get lost in the mix. You will get dedicated one-on-one teaching and will not lose cases to a multitude of fellows or senior residents. Third, we are located just 40 minutes north of New York City. This allows for the possibility of living in the city, and taking advantage of all it has to offer. Alternatively, you could live in the suburbs adjacent to the hospital, if that's what you prefer. Most importantly, I believe our Program has a very laid-back, down-to-earth atmosphere. The residents get along extremely well with one another as well as with the attendings. In fact, it is not uncommon for the residents and attendings to go for Sushi together on a Friday night or gather in someone's apartment on a Sunday afternoon to watch football. There are many other reasons why our Residency Program is a wonderful place to spend four years, or more, so please come and take a look for yourself. You will not be disappointed! |
