“Thank you for your interest in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at New York Medical College. We would like to personally welcome you to our Radiology Residency website. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
-Jay Acharya, MD, Chief Resident
Our Diagnostic Radiology residency is a four-year fully ACGME-accredited program with five residents per year for a total of twenty residents. All clinical training takes place at Westchester Medical Center, the major teaching hospital for New York Medical College. The hospital is located on the New York Medical College campus in Valhalla, New York, which is approximately 20 miles north of New York City. We are a Level I Trauma and Tertiary Care Center with a wider array of pathology than one could ever hope to see. Residents spend the majority of their time at the Medical Center and the adjacent Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Residents also spend time at the outpatient imaging center, Advanced Imaging, located across the street from the main campus.
The mission of our diagnostic radiology residency is to offer a diverse and rich clinical experience combined with a comprehensive didactic curriculum in an enthusiastic learning environment. The goal is to prepare our trainees to become experts in diagnostic imaging, compassionate healthcare providers, and leaders within the field of radiology. As displayed in the alumni section, our graduates move on to exceptional fellowships at the nation's top programs and later join competitive academic and private practices all across the country.
We encourage you to explore our website and learn more about our residency program. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.
