AFIP

Four-week course attended by all residents in the third year. Tuition paid by the Department. There is a $1,500 stipend available to residents which can be utilized for either AFIP or conference expenses.

Research

If a paper is presented at a national meeting, the Department pays all expenses and provides the time to attend the meeting.

Conference Time

Ten days can be taken between the third and fourth years of residency. If a resident presents at a meeting, this time is in addition to the allotted 10 days and expenses are covered by the department.

Physics

Weekly lectures given by physicists as a course prep for the Boards.

Interview Days

Seven days can be taken between the third and fourth years.

Technical Support

Laptops are given to the residents at the onset of their training to assist in their educational process.

Meal Vouchers

Vouchers are provided for residents on call.

Introduction to Radiology

An intensive two-week introductory course with Dr. Rachlin, covering basic radiology and emergency imaging for the first year residents. In addition, first year residents shadow the on-call resident throughout the first year to gain experience prior to taking independent call as a second year resident.
