Waldemar A. (Tony) Comas, J.D., is the Vice President and
General Counsel and Secretary to the College's Board of Trustees. He is
responsible for providing legal guidance and support to various
constituencies of the College, including trustees, officers,
administrators, faculty, employees and students.
Mr. Comas has over 30 years of legal work experience in the practice of
law especially in the areas of labor and employment, representation
before various Federal, State and local administrative agencies, the
negotiation, preparation and review of contracts and other legal
documents, litigation and corporate law.
He has also over 22 years of legal experience in the areas of health,
higher education, not for profit, affiliations, faculty practice,
insurance, real estate and contract management. Mr. Comas began his
career at the College in 1986 as Associate General Counsel in the Office
of General Counsel and thereafter received successive promotions in the
College's Office of General Counsel with increasing responsibilities in
the areas of labor and employment, faculty practice, affiliations,
insurance, litigation and other legal matters. From July 2004 until his
appointment in March 2005 as Vice President and General Counsel by the
Board of Trustees of New York Medical College, Mr. Comas served as chief
legal advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Board of
Trustees and all of the College's officers and administrators. Prior to
joining the College, Mr. Comas worked for the New York City office of
the National Labor Relations Board, where in 1979 he was promoted to
supervising attorney, the nation's first Puerto Rican American to be so
named. His previous positions have included corporate manager of labor
relations for Warner Amex Cable Communications, Inc., and director of
personnel and labor relations at Metropolitan Hospital Center. Mr. Comas
graduated cum laude from the City College of the City University of New
York and received his juris doctor degree from Columbia University's
School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for
academic excellence. |

Dana H. Lee, JD, MPA

Dana H. Lee, J.D., M.P.A., is the Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs and Assistant Secretary
to the College's Board of Trustees. She has served in this capacity
since August 2005 and has more than 13 years of experience in the areas
of litigation, contracts, employment and intellectual property. Prior to
joining the College's Office of General Counsel, Ms. Lee spent over four
years as a senior policy analyst at New York University for the Office
of the Provost, where she was responsible for reviewing and revising
university policies on intellectual property, assisting on issues
relating to the unionization of graduate assistants, serving as a
liaison to dean search committees and coordinating tenure revocation
proceedings. She also spent six-and-a-half years as a litigation
associate at two Manhattan law firms before moving to public-interest
work as a project attorney for the New York State Department of Health’s
Task Force on Life and the Law, an interdisciplinary commission that
develops legal and public policy on issues raised from medical advances.
Ms. Lee received a B.S. degree from Cornell University, a J.D. degree
from New York University School of Law, and an M.P.A. degree from New
York University Wagner Graduate School Public Service. |

Karen Longo is the Administrator in the Office of General Counsel.
Ms. Longo has been with New York Medical College since 1999. Prior to
that, she was with Citibank for 18 years, beginning in Human Resources
and ultimately spending 8 years as a Manager in various branches. Ms.
Longo has a B.A. degree from Fordham University. |

Emily Bernstein is the Contracts/Compliance Coordinator for the Office of the General Counsel. Prior to joining New York Medical College in March 2011, Ms. Bernstein spent more than 20 years as a litigation paralegal with Bingham McCutchen LLP. She has a B.A. degree in Sociology from Clark University, a Paralegal Certification from Mercy College and a M.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Iona College. |

Tricia Davis is the Administrative Assistant in the Office of the General Counsel. Ms. Davis has been with New York Medical College since February of 2010. Prior to joining New York Medical College, she worked for Morgan Stanley located in Purchase, NY for 3 years in the Tax Excise Department. |
