The General Pediatric Faculty Practice is comprised of ten board certified/board eligible pediatricians who are all faculty members of the Department of Pediatrics at New York Medical College. We also represent the teaching staff of Westchester Medical Center (WMC). Therefore, we have considerable experience with educating future Pediatricians. We work very closely with the pediatric subspecialties and surgical staffs at WMC to provide your child with the best possible care.
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm in White Plains.
Parking:
Parking is available at both sites free of charge.
Appointments:
Appointments may be made at either office by calling the numbers at the bottom of the page. We appreciate notification as soon as possible if you need to reschedule your appointment.
Well Child Care:
We recommend scheduling checkups at least 4 weeks in advance if possible. Most parents in our practice prefer to choose one pediatrician for their childs well visits. However, some parents like to meet each pediatrician over the course of several checkups. Whatever your preference is, we will be happy to accommodate you. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends well child visits at the following ages:
1-2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 yrs then yearly through age 18 yrs
If your child has special needs, we may recommend more well child visits than those listed above.
Newborns:
If your baby is discharged from the hospital before he/she is 48 hours old we need to see you within the first few days after discharge. If your baby is discharged after 48 hours and you are breast feeding at all we need to see him/her at approximately 1 week of age. If you are bottle feeding exclusively please schedule your first visit before your new baby is two weeks old.
Questions?:
If you have any non-emergent questions about the care of your children please feel free to call our office during regular hours. Our nurses are all well trained at answering questions. If you prefer to speak to your pediatrician about an issue, you may leave a message with the office staff and your physician will return your call as soon as possible.
Emergencies/Urgent Questions:
One of the pediatricians from our practice is on call all the time when the office is closed. If you have an emergency during office hours please call our regular number to reach our nurses or the pediatrician on call. When our office is closed and you have an emergency or urgent question please call our answering service at 654-4294. They will take a message and notify the pediatrician on call who will call you back as soon as possible (within 20minutes). If you have an emergency that requires immediate transfer to the ER, please notify us as soon as possible so that we may assist in your childs care and follow-up.
Referrals:
If one of the pediatricians decides to refer your child to a specialist, our office staff will assist in the process of getting insurance company approval as well as transfer of necessary paperwork.
