Our physicians are fully equipped for the complete evaluation of children with multiple infections or with suggested immune defects.  Physicians throughout the Hudson Valley refer children that seem to be sick more often than they should be.

New York State is now beginning to test for some of the more severe immune defects as part of the routine newborn screening blood tests that are done on every infant born in the state.  All positive tests in the region are referred to our center for further evaluation.  This is a very exciting new program and we are thrilled to be part of it.

Treatment of primary immunodeficiencies. There is a long list of primary immunodeficiencies, some rare, some more common.  Our faculty is trained and expert in the diagnosis and management of these disorders, including:

Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCIDS)

Ataxia-telangiectasia

DiGeorge syndrome

Common variable immunodeficiency

Chronic granulomatous disease

Hyperimmunoglobinemia E syndrome

Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome
