Care of the Technology-Dependent Child
For appointments or to contact us, call 914-493-7585

We work with many children who require various types of technology to assist with their breathing, including home mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy, noninvasive ventilation (CPAP and BPAP), supplemental oxygen, and airway clearance devices.

We use a multidisciplinary approach where we work with Otolaryngologists (ENT), a respiratory therapist, a nutritionist, and swallowing specialists that are all affiliated with the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

Our patients have various conditions, including chronic respiratory insufficiency due to neuromuscular diseases, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and airway disorders.  Our aim is to work with the family to provide advanced medical at home, optimize health and growth, and decrease the need for hospitalizations.

We communicate and coordinate care between the primary pediatrician, the different specialists caring for the child and the home equipment and nursing companies involved in the child's care. While patients are cared for at home by parents and/or nurses, our physicians remain available for telephone consultations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions and address medical and technical issues.
