Emergency Medicine residents rotate at Montefiore Medical Center, North Division for a total of 3 months during the academic program.

Former Our Lady of Mercy Medical center, Montefiore Medical Center - North Division is a not for profit private community hospital which serves the working/middle class communities of the North Bronx and Lower Westchester County.

During this rotation, EM residents evaluate, diagnose and participate in the resuscitation and management of all patients presenting to the ED and may perform any necessary procedure for stabilization of patients, including difficult airway management, central lines and thoracostomy tubes, among others. Geriatric high acuity patients represent around 50% of the population presenting to the ED.
