Welcome

The original New York Medical College (Metropolitan) Emergency Medicine Program was the first EM program in Manhattan and the second oldest program in the state of New York.

As of February 1995, this program has existed as a new program. The NYMC (Metropolitan) Program offers a three year residency that is committed to training residents who will graduate with a high degree of academic and clinical competence.

The program director and the faculty members of the NYMC (Metropolitan) Program are committed to providing the highest quality education, promoting an environment conducive to academic and personal growth.

One of the strongest characteristics of the NYMC (Metropolitan) Program is the variety of patients to which EM residents are exposed during their clinical rotations. The residents have the opportunity to participate in patient care in different emergency medicine practice settings, which include the primary clinical site of Metropolitan Hospital Center as well as Westchester Medical Center, Harlem Hospital Center and Our Lady of Mercy.
