Dendy Engelman, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor of dermatology at New York Medical College and director of dermatologic surgery where she oversees the College’s Division of Procedural Dermatology which includes multiple dedicated surgery clinics and a high volume of surgical cases, including Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Engelman is also an associate at Manhattan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, and affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan Hospital.
Dr. Engelman earned her M.D. at the Medical University of South Carolina, completed an internship in internal medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. She completed her residency in dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed a one-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural and Aesthetic Dermatology including training on and dermatologic surgery, lasers, liposuction and vein treatments. She also has extensive training and experience in cosmetic dermatology – including neurotoxins, injectable fillers, chemical peels and fat removal. She is a board certified dermatologic surgeon and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Engelman has earned the Presidential Scholar Award and was also awarded the Humanism in Medicine Scholarship for her work establishing and running a free medical care clinic in Charleston and in Haiti where she continues to serve on an annual mission with her family.
