Montgomery Douglas, M.D. Chairman, Department and Program Director,
Ellen Miller, M.D.Dr. Miller has been a faculty member of the Department of Family Medicine and St. Joseph's Family Practice since 1995. She graduated from Cornell University and attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Her residency training was at Montefiore's Social Medicine residency program. Dr. Miller is Pre-doctoral Director for the Department of Family Medicine at New York Medical College. Areas of interest are in small group teaching, women's health and Faculty Development.
Daniel Miller, M.D.Medical Director, Health Center Dr. Miller has been a faculty member at St. Joseph's Family Practice since 1993. A graduate of Brown University he attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He trained at Montefiore's Residency Program in Social Medicine where he was Chief Resident. His current responsibility is Director of the Family Health Center. He heads the Departmental Computer Committee and his area of teaching interest is doctor-patient relationships.
Jennifer Ringstad, M.D., M.P.H.Dr. Ringstad has been a faculty member at St. Joseph's Family Practice since 1994. She graduated from the University of Oregon and completed an M.D. and M.P.H. at the University of North Carolina. Her residency training was at Montefiore's Residency program in Social Medicine. Her main area of interest is improving primary care for the underserved.
Sonia Velez, M.D.Dr. Velez has been a faculty member at St. Joseph's Family Practice since 1997. A graduate of Fordham University she attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean. She went on to obtain her law degree at Boston University School of Law, before doing her residency training at St. Joseph's Family Practice Residency where she was Chief Resident in her final year. Her areas of interest are women's health issues, patient education and health law.
Lori Weir, M.D.Born and raised in northern California, Dr. Weir graduated from the University of California in San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After a brief career in HIV research, she moved east to attend New York Medical College. As a medical student, she was very active in the Family Medicine Interest Group and the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Brown University in Providence, where she was assistant chief resident. Currently, Dr. Weir divides her time between New York Medical College, where she’s involved in primary care research and the advisor for the Family Medicine Interest Group, and St. Joseph’s, where she’s a consulting physician for YonkerSpectrum school-based health program. Her outside interests include cooking, wine tasting and stained glass artistry. |
