Chief of Clinical and Program Director, Sections of Hematology and Oncology for SVCMC - St. Vincent's Manhattan. Dr. Astrow also serves as Associate Medical Director for the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Astrow has a co-appointment in the John J. Conley Department of Ethics at St. Vincent's. He has most recently focused on the intersection of spirituality, religious wisdom, and patient care and directed a year long inter-faith conference series supported by the Templeton Foundation. He chaired a session at the most recent annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology entitled "Anger, Hope and the Care of the Patient With Cancer: Religious Thinkers Respond to Case Studies" and will be co-chairing an upcoming St. Vincent's program on the relationship of psychosocial care to spiritual care. more |
