Professor Emeritus of Microbiology & Immunology and Faculty of The Bioethics Institute, NYMC
Dr. Wassermann earned a B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin. He studied Medical Microbiology at the New York University where he earned his Ph.D. He was one of the establishing members of the Bioethics Institute; And he has been actively involved in teaching bioethics at New York Medical College for many years. His main area of expertise is research ethics and he currently leads a course on research ethics in the graduate school of Basic Medical Science. He spent several years as the Chairman of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at NYMC.
