The full-time faculty at The Bioethics Institute of New York Medical College are involved in teaching bioethics across all four years of medical school.

The Institute's faculty also conducts empirical and theoretical research in clinical and medical ethics. The major areas of present research include the ethics of end-of-life care, ethics education and professionalism, the ethical issues surrounding cost-containment in health care and ethical issues in pediatrics. The approach is multi-disciplinary, and involves philosophical, theological, legal, and empirical viewpoints.
