John A. Savino, M.D., the Felicien Steichen Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery, welcomed keynote speaker Carol EH Scott-Conner, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., professor emeritus in the Department of Surgery, University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, to the 13th Annual Louis R.M. DelGuercio, M.D., Distinguished Visiting Professorship and Research Day on December 14. The event was established in 2002 to honor the late Dr. Del Guercio's leadership and pioneering research during his 24-year tenure as chairman of the Department of Surgery, and to stimulate and promote surgical research at NYMC. There were 47 submissions for the poster and podium presentations.
