Four SHSP Students Graduate from the Westchester Institute for Human Development LEND Program

Four NYMC students from the School of Health Sciences and Practice graduated from the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program on May 11. LEND is an interdisciplinary leadership training program, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the federal government at 52 universities around the country.  The LEND Program at WIHD prepares health and education professions graduate students, and family members of people with disabilities, for leadership roles working with and on behalf of children with disabilities and their families. MegAnn McGinnis, M.P.H. student in behavioral sciences and health promotion, Surbhi Arora, M.P.H. student in behavioral sciences and health promotion, Amanda Apa, M.S. in speech-language pathology Class of 2017, and Jennifer Sparano, M.S. in speech-language pathology Class of 2017, were among the 27 LEND Graduates.
