The course will focus on membrane channels and transporters and how their net activity determines overall renal function. Students will be expected to read, evaluate and discuss original articles.

The course will be graded as follows:

Midterm Essay - 15 points

Midterm Presentation of material from essay - 10 points

Final Examination - 35 points

Term Paper - 25 points

Final Presentation of material from term paper - 15 points
