Research Interests

Department of Physiology

The Department of Physiology research program is concentrated in several areas of strength :

      Cardiovascular Physiology
        The departmental research effort encompasses many areas of cardiovascular physiology including METABOLIC, MICROCIRCULATORY AND MYOCARDIAL PHYSIOLOGY utilizing a wide variety of experimental models ranging from molecular biology to systemic and utilizing in vitro to in vivo preparations.

    Neuroscience
        The department has a concentration of researchers involved in investigations of the central nervous system.  These research programs involve studies at both the cellular and systems level.  The neuroscience research community at NYMC extends across many departments, with many opportunities for interactions in seminars, courses, and laboratory investigations.
